A human being’s mind works in terms of associations. By this we mean “associated thoughts.” In other words, when you have a thought -- maybe about the clothes you are wearing or a social engagement -- then that thought triggers, in your “memory bank,” thoughts that are associated with or connected with the first thought. So you think in “chains” of thought.
{Page puts in an example: …you think of a social engagement…you think of where it will be, and travel there in your mind…you think of someone who will also be a guest…this arouses feelings you have about that person…and perhaps those feelings are positive…[and this] leads you to think of another person or place or plan that also made you feel good…etc.}
One thought leads to the next thought, you see. And all the thoughts, if you trace them back, are associated with the next and the next. This is the normal human way of thinking as long as the person is sane and the individual who is serious in the pursuit of knowledge.
Society, which represents the “collective” consciousness of all human beings alive on the planet today, human society, sadly, has some negative views about the ancestral peoples. There are some people in society – the Asians and the Native American peoples – who do not think like Americans and Europeans. The majority of Americans and Europeans tend to take an attitude that the ancestors were little more than hairy beasts, carrying a large club in their hands, and were aggressive and barbaric in their nature. [When] the words primitive and ancient people are mentioned, then 9 out of 10 people will relate those terms to ignorance! Ignorant in what way? Ignorance of technological knowledge. Ignorance in terms of technological devices, including the various modes of transportation such as the airplane. Regardless of who they were and/or where and when they lived, they had no airplanes, you say. They [had] no technology; they had no skyscrapers or other modern amenities. You think that all they had was their culture, which was quite rich we might add, and their religion. If one makes a study of the Ancients worldwide, one will quickly discover that the culture and the religion were one and the same. There was little or no separation between the two.
Getting back to what we said about there being no separation between culture and state, and culture and religion. Ancient societies were formed on this principal, which in turn led to the formation of a Priesthood. Let us think about this. When we say “Priesthood,” the way you think, the word “priest” means male, masculine. That all the members of any given Priesthood were men is far from the truth. The language should include Priestesses, for many of the Priesthoods in the majority of societies did indeed include women.
How were the priests and priestesses chosen? There was always a search for two things that became noticeable in a given person, usually at a young age, male or female. One of those was the individual’s intellectual capacity; that person is adept at learning, or “smart” as you might say. They observed those who were eager to learn, in fact eagerness to learn is a necessary ingredient that leads to any person becoming an intellectual. An intellectual is not one who has knowledge of one thing or in one area of life such ceremonialism, tribal history, communication, religion, and so forth.
The second thing that was looked for was supernatural capabilities. Let’s say, for example, that a young child goes to a parent, an Elder, or perhaps even the chief or leader of the people and tells of a dream they had had. They in turn asked the Elder or whomever they had told the dream to sees that the contents of the dream has come to pass. That child then, in the minds of the Elders, became eligible to become a priest or priestess. In some societies we could use the term “becoming a medicine man or medicine woman” or a shaman or a magician. All these words and the implication of these words were focused on that child or that adult, whichever the case may be. There was no rule as to what age supernatural powers would emerge (and do emerge today) from within human consciousness. Perhaps a member of the society showed evidence of being capable of healing the sick. There is no society that existed that did not need doctoring on the physical body. So that child or adult would be observed carefully for their healing ability.
Within many ancient societies there also existed shamans who could travel out into the universe. We prefer to call them Star Shamans. They had no need for an airplane or some sort of spacecraft or rocket, you see. Their spacecraft was in their brain! They travelled mentally. They travelled with their mind, and they were quite adept at this, you see. Let’s say that a member of a given society – or maybe more than one – shows interest in keeping company with star shamans and became intrigued, thinking perhaps “I can do that!” This leads to …“I wish to learn how to do that!”
Sometimes the Star Shamans would travel to specific locations in the universe, the area of certain constellations, certain stars, certain galaxies perhaps. Some might come back with information for the people, maybe information that had to do with future weather conditions. This was so important because the people needed to know about the prediction of a bountiful crop or of crop failure. Sometimes the Star Shamans would come back with warnings, warnings that the “star people” had spoken about. The warnings would sometimes concern the threat of war, when one people planned to rise up against another. And so these mental travelers and the star shamans were important members of society, no matter its size or location. They were an invaluable member of the Priesthood.
Perhaps there was also a young person, child or adult, who showed a particular interest in the politics of a society. That person’s knowledge and expertise and what value they had to the people was almost equal to those who showed supernatural types of ability. No one was placed above another in many of the ancient societies, most especially in the matriarchal societies. It was only during the time, some 10,500 years ago, that the Atlantean society was the strongest, the largest, and the wealthiest on the planet, and the Priesthood consisted of several hundred priests and priestesses. It was during the Atlantean times that separation of “church and state” took place, leading to the human ego to become self-centered. Individuals were willing to separate themselves from others, thinking themselves to be more qualified, or most wealthy, or most intellectual. That led to a “class structure” to be put into place. There was a “category” for the wealthiest, the workers, the intellectuals, the hunters, the warriors, and one for the poor. As you can see this changed the way society had long been, having no class distinctions. This caused damage. And that damage still exist until this day. Upon the death of the matriarchal, the grandmother society – and we do mean it was a death – the death of the goddess, if you will, that in and of itself created an archetypal separation between male and female
We think you hear that we say that in order to truly understand the ancient peoples, one has to not allow one’s self to remain ignorant of the societies that you do know something about, and seek to expand upon that knowledge in whatever ways it would be beneficial to do so. You cannot think like a modern-day human being and understand the Priesthood or any of the ancient societies; the ancient Lemurians, the ancient Egyptians, the ancient Sumerians, or the Babylonians, the Mayans. You cannot understand the consciousness of these ancient ones, and there were many others.
There may be some who will say that I, Albion, must be mistaken. We can see films of some of the arcane societies’ endeavors. There were those who built stone circles; there were those who were pyramid builders, temple builders, and mound builders. What is that all about, you say? What was the value of that? Today there are some archaeologists, anthropologists, and even some geologists who will look at a stone circle such as Stonehenge or Avebury, and say that they know what the stone circles and other monolithic monuments are all about. Some say that these were ancient observatories, the way the Ancients looked at the stars and certain celestial events. Yes, this is true. Stone circles were “cosmic clocks?” Yes this is also true. But you say you do not have need in your world today for cosmic-oriented stone circles, pyramids and the like. But what is not understood is that, yes, there was purpose behind building Stonehenge, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Carnac in France. In fact, the purpose for such sites is three-fold.
First, the purpose was to honor the Spirits, like building a “home for the Spirits, so to speak. In the Bible there is a passage that tells of the Messiah saying…“I go to prepare a place for you,” the word “mansion” is used. There are many Christians today who take that promise quite literally. Well, we could say that every stone circle that was built was viewed the same way, as a “mansion for the Spirits,” and that particular place has been chosen.
Secondly, you must have the ability to find a place that the land itself is willing to lend itself to serve as a “host” to the stone circle or some other type of monument. There are stone circles and various other edifices, including temples that the spirit or spirits of the land still reside there.
Thirdly, value must be placed on what is known about the ancient peoples. If you think “well, we don’t do things that way anymore,” or “the ancestral peoples were primitive”…primitive being used in the negative here…because this is truly ignorance. If modern human beings could realize that the intellectual capacity – and this could easily be considered [to] be thought of as technological capacity – then you would realize that the things that stump the most brilliant in your modern society, that would confuse the brightest of your physicians, the brightest of your scientists and your scholars was already known by the Ancients. Diseases such as cancer or Alzheimer’s would have been no more life-threatening to the Mayan society, for example, than the common cold!
{Page adds: because of the ancient people’s relationship with the plant kingdom, they were “given” knowledge by the plants of what ailments they could be used to treat and oftentimes cure.}
So to toss the Ancients, the prehistoric peoples, into the trashbin of ignorance is a grave mistake that will stand in the way of you having any hope of learning to think like the Ancestors. As I, Albion, see it, it is a mistake whose time has come to correct. I, Albion, am not the only Teacher who will be talking about these things. The channelings, the books and articles, however the information is presented, will become extremely interested. The time has come for a true understanding of the ancient peoples and societies, the lost Priesthoods, and to elevate their statues to the level they deserve so they will not be left to drown in the ocean of ignorance. Do not think for a moment that the prehistoric people had no knowledge that would be of any benefit to modern society.
So we speak about the lost people of the lost ages. Much of what we speak about will be spoken about by many others in time to come. We seek only to add our voice to the voice of the collective of intuitives who will speak about these matters.
God bless yourselves.
Albion continued: As an afterthought, we know that 20-25 years ago, we could not channel some of the information that will appear in these lessons because her beliefs, her esoteric vocabulary, and her intellectual knowledge she had attained at that point would not have been ready to put out the information that is to come. However, the time has come, and she is now ready to serve as our channel in the way we need her to serve. So be it.
